Karen Burniston DC 104 – Stage

Vandaag is het weer tijd voor de challenge kaart. Deze maand was de opdracht om een stage kaart te maken.

Ik wist dat ik iets met wolken wilde doen. Voor de rand heb ik de Nature Edges Die Set (1006) gebruikt. De wolkjes komen uit de Rainbow Add-ons (1309). Omdat ik twee tinten wit heb, heb ik deze door elkaar gebruikt voor een beetje extra contrast.

Daarna had ik even een klein probleem: wat ga ik erop maken? De luchtballon was al een paar keer gebruikt, dus die viel af. Toen besloot ik er een fantasiekaart van te maken.

Ik heb de cupcakejes uit de Cupcake Add-ons (1241) gebruikt en de egeltjes uit de Winter Animals (1016). Om de egeltjes nog schattiger te maken heb ik de strikjes uit de Dotted Charms (1136) toegevoegd.

Omdat ik er nog een paar over had, heb ik ook de cupcakejes een strikje gegeven. De banner komt uit de Greeting Labels (1312) met Happy Birthday uit de Movie Night Greetings clear stamps.

En natuurlijk houdt mijn egeltje weer iets vast — dit keer een wolkje.

Today it’s time for the challenge card again. This month’s assignment was to create a stage pop-up card.

I knew I wanted to create something with clouds. For the edges I used the Nature Edges Die Set (1006). The clouds come from the Rainbow Add-ons (1309). Since I have two shades of white, I mixed them for a bit of contrast.

Then I had a small creative block: what should I put on the card? The hot air balloons was used several times, so I decided to go for a fantasy theme instead.

I used the cupcakes from the Cupcake Add-ons (1241) and the hedgehogs from the Winter Animals (1016). To make the hedgehogs even cuter, I added bows from the Dotted Charms (1136).

Since I had some bows left, I also added them to the cupcakes. The banner comes from the Greeting Labels (1312) with an Happy Birthday from the Movie Night Greetings clear stamps.

And of course, my hedgehog is holding something again — this time a little cloud.

Party Pigs

Vandaag een kaart die ik voor mijn oom Roel heb gemaakt. Ik merk dat accordion kaarten het altijd goed doen. De ontvangers zetten ze vaak neer, bijvoorbeeld op de schoorsteen.

Ik ben begonnen met de Fancy Label Accordion (1043) als basis. Ik had weer eens zin om de Birthday Candle Add-ons (1258) te gebruiken. De kaarsjes springen er echt uit, zeker op de zwarte achtergrond.

Omdat ik feestvarkens wilde maken, heb ik de Chicken, Pig and Lamb (1092) gebruikt voor de varkentjes. Zoals Karen Burniston laatst in haar unboxing video al zei: mijn signatuur zijn de diertjes die iets vasthouden. Dus ook deze varkentjes houden een kaarsje vast.

Wat ik de laatste tijd ook erg leuk vind, is het maken van een 3D banner. Die heb ik hier ook weer gebruikt.

En zo is mijn kaartje ontstaan. Nog even wat foto’s gemaakt en… mijn tweede filmpje. Dat gaat nog niet helemaal perfect, maar ik blijf oefenen.

Today I’m sharing a card I made for my uncle Roel. I’ve noticed that accordion cards are always a success. People often display them, for example on the mantel.

I started with the Fancy Label Accordion (1043) as the base. I felt like using the Birthday Candle Add-ons (1258) again. The candles really pop, especially against the black background.

I wanted to create some party pigs, so I used the Chicken, Pig and Lamb (1092) for the pigs. As Karen Burniston mentioned in her unboxing video, my signature is animals holding something. So these pigs are holding candles.

Lately I’ve also been enjoying making 3D banners, so I added one to this card as well.

And that’s how this card came together. I took some photos and… made my second video. It’s not perfect yet, but I’ll keep practicing.
