Vandaag de fan

Dit is een kaart waar ik de Photo Fan Pop-up (1292) heb uitgeprobeerd. Ik vind hem echt geweldig. In plaats van foto's heb ik speelkaarten gepakt. Mijn broertje was jarig en hij speelt wel eens poker. De kaarten, dobbelstenen en chips komen allemaal uit de Game Charms (1235). De olifanten heb ik er bijgezet omdat mijn nichtje en neefje dat hadden gezet.

Today the Fan

This is a card where I tried out the Photo Fan Pop-up (1292). I really like it. Instead of photos I used playing cards. It was my brother's birthday and he plays poker sometimes. The cards, dice and chips are all from the Game Charms (1235). I added the elephants because my niece and nephew told me too.

Het is zover...

...Dag 1 van de sneakpeek. Mijn eerste kaart heb ik gemaakt met de Fireworks (1287). Het is niet zo goed te zien door de overvloed aan bloemen die ik heb geplakt. Typisch een geval van niet weten wanneer ik moest ophouden, vrees ik. De Fireworks heb ik samen met de Palm Tree Pop-up (1039) gebruikt. Voor alle bloemen heb ik een paar verschillende sets, Fun Flowers (1234), de gele bloementjes komen uit de Tiny Trees Pop-Up (1156), de kleine witte bloemetjes uit de Twist Flower Pop-up (1239). Ook heb ik wat bloemen opgehangen aan de puntjes van de fireworks. Dit heb ik gedaan met hulp van de nieuwe Charm Rings (1284).

   

The time has come...

...Day 1 of the sneak peek. My first card I made with the Fireworks (1287). It's not that easy to see because of the abundance of flowers I stuck on. A typical case of not knowing when to stop, I'm afraid. I used the Fireworks together with the Palm Tree Pop-up (1039). For all the flowers I have a few different sets, Fun Flowers (1234), the yellow flowers are from the Tiny Trees Pop-Up (1156), the small white flowers from the Twist Flower Pop-up (1239). I also hung some flowers on the tips of the fireworks. I did this with the help of the new Charm Rings (1284).

Een tegoedbon

Ik kreeg een opdracht om een tegoed bon te maken voor iemand. Er moesten veel bloemen in allemaal  verschillende kleuren op komen. En dan krijg je zo een bontgekleurde kaart. In het midden van de kaart heb ik de Fence Add-ons (1240) gebruikt. Zo wordt het een soort tuin. Ik heb de lieveheersbeestjes van Marianne Design toegevoegd. Ik hou er wel van als de kaartje een beestje hebben.

A voucher card

I got an assignment to make a voucher card for someone. There had to be a lot of flowers in all different colors. And then you get a colorful card. In the middle of the card I used the Fence Add-ons (1240). That way it becomes a kind of garden. I added the ladybugs from Marianne Design. I like it when the cards have a little animal.

Nog een kaartje voor mijn kind

Keyon heeft natuurlijk naast een kaart van zijn ouders, ook een kaart van zijn oma gekregen. Mijn moeder geeft me altijd een opdracht om een kaart te maken. Dit is kaart nummer twee voor Keyon zijn 18de verjaardag. Er zit een klein verhaaltje achter. Mijn moeder borduurt. En ze heeft een schilderij geborduurd meteen hutje tussen de bergen. Zo kwam er een dialoog op gang tussen oma en kleinzoon. Over hoe geweldig het zou zijn om offgrid te wonen met een moestuintje, paar kippen, zonnepanelen enz. Nou, oma wilde best mee met Keyon. 

Another card for my child

Keyon of course received a card from his parents as well as a card from his grandmother. My mother always gives me an assignment to make a card. This is card number two for Keyon's 18th birthday. There is a little story behind it. My mother embroiders. And she embroidered a painting of a hut between the mountains. This started a dialogue between grandma and grandson. About how great it would be to live off-grid with a vegetable garden, a few chickens, solar panels, etc. Well, grandma was quite willing to go with Keyon. 

Designer Challenge 86 - Haunted Location

Vandaag de designer challenge. En wel een haunted location. Ik heb gekozen voor het schip. Daar heb ik een piraten schip van gemaakt. Met de "pirates of the caribbean" in gedachten heb ik een stel skeletten uitgedraai. Ik heb ze een piraten hoed gegeven en een stel zwaarden. Ook even een maan in het hoekje, want anders moeten het gewone piraten zijn. Als randje heb ik de schatkisten opgeplakt. Nu is het al een poosje geleden dat ik de films heb gezien, maar er staat me iets van een grote inktvis. Op de voorkant de happy birthday en klaar is de kaart.

Today the designer challenge. And a haunted location. I chose the ship. I made a pirate ship out of it. With the "pirates of the caribbean" in mind I printed out a bunch of skeletons. I gave them a pirate hat and a bunch of swords. Also a moon in the corner, because otherwise they have to be regular pirates. As a border I glued on the treasure chests. Now it's been a while since I saw the movies, but there's something like a big octopus on it. On the front the happy birthday and the card is ready.

Wat een verschil

Vandaag twee bijna dezelfde kaarten, voor twee hele verschillende redenen. De eerste is voor mijn oudste broer. Die is dit jaar alleen, gewapend met een gps telefoon, door het zwarte woud in Duitsland gaan wandelen. Ik vond het dan ook een leuk idee om voor zijn verjaardag een pop-up te maken van de tent. En een roeiboot kon ook niet missen.

De tweede kaart is voor een hele andere rede gemaakt. Keyon zit op scouting. Bij de welpen had hij een leidster die hij erg lief vond. Door de jaren heen zie je elkaar nog wel op de verschillende kampen. Eigenlijk is scouting een soort familie. Die leidster heeft nu te horen gekregen dat ze uitbehandeld is. En de groep waar Keyon nu in zit hebben haar allemaal als leidster gehad. En wilde even met haar afspreken voor een dikke knuffel. Zij heeft het ook erg goed aangepakt. Ik dacht die avond een droevige Keyon terug te krijgen, maar niks in minder waar. Ze heeft er wat humor ingegooid en uit gelegd wat ze heeft en hoe het allemaal is gebeurd. Wat ze nu wel en niet kan. Ze is zelfs, afgelopen weekend, mee geweest naar hun jaarlijkse openingskamp. Het is een mooi mens.

Het enige verschil is dat er bij mijn broer een Happy Birthday op staat en voor haar een Big Hug.

What a difference

Today two almost identical cards, for two very different reasons. The first is for my oldest brother. This year he went hiking alone, armed with a GPS phone, through the Black Forest in Germany. So I thought it would be a nice idea to make a pop-up of the tent for his birthday. And a rowing boat was also a must.

The second card was made for a completely different reason. Keyon is a scout. He had a leader in the cubs that he really liked. Over the years they still see each other at the different camps. Actually, scouting is a kind of family. That leader has now been told that her treatment has finished. And the group that Keyon is in now all had her as a leader. And wanted to meet her for a big hug. She handled it very well. I thought I would get a sad Keyon back that evening, but nothing could be further from the truth. She threw in some humor and explained what she has and how it all happened. What she can and cannot do now. 

She even went to their annual opening camp last weekend. She's a beautiful person.

The only difference is that my brother's has a Happy Birthday on it and hers has a Big Hug.

Wat gaat de tijd toch snel

Op het moment dat ik dit zit te schrijven werd ik 18 jaar geleden mamma. Wat ben ik blij met mijn kind. En zoals het hoort (kreeg ik van 1 van mijn neefjes te horen die een ijskaart voor zijn 18de verjaardag kreeg) krijg je een bier kaart. Of wijn, maar ik Keyon zijn geval is het een bier kaart geworden. Hij mag al een paar maanden, in het weekend, een biertje drinken. En de kroondoppen bewaard hij. In een spel die ook als serie is gemaakt (Fallout) is dat namelijk een betaalmiddel. Dus hij is maar alvast begonnen met sparen, hihi.

Ik heb de klaskaart van afgelopen zaterdag nog een keertje gemaakt. Gewapend met mijn designpapiertje die ik in Japan heb gekocht met kroondoppen heb ik heerlijk zitten knutselen. Ik vind dit echt weer een kaart om vaker te maken. Er gebeurt zo veel.

Nou Keyon, Van harte gefeliciteerd met je 18de verjaardag. Je bent een topper!

How time flies!

At the time I am writing this, I became a mother 18 years ago. I am so happy with my child. And as it should be (I heard from one of my nephews who got an ice cream card for his 18th birthday) you get a beer card. Or wine, but in Keyon's case it became a beer card. He has been allowed to drink a beer in the weekend for a few months now. And he keeps the crown caps. In a game that was also made as a series (Fallout) that is a means of payment. So he has already started saving, haha.

I made the class card from last Saturday again. Armed with my design paper that I bought in Japan with crown caps, I had a great time crafting. I really think this is a card to make more often. So much is happening.

Well Keyon, congratulations on your 18th birthday. You are the best!
