Dino Avontuur in de Arcologie

Vandaag deel ik op mijn blog een speciale kaart die ik heb gemaakt voor iemand die helemaal gek is op archeologie. Gewapend met mijn "Tent Pop-Up (1048)" ben ik aan de slag gegaan. 

Als achtergrond heb ik een leuke stempelset van Stampin’Up! gebruikt met dino’s en botjes. De witte botjes heb ik geëmbossed met poeder, waardoor ze echt van het papier afspatten. Voor de botjes op de tent heb ik de "Pirate Borders (1281)" erbij gepakt – de kleine botjes van de piratenhoed zijn daar perfect voor. 

Voor de rand koos ik de "Halloween Borders (1247)". Natuurlijk mocht er ook een diertje bij: mijn keuze viel op het wasbeertje uit de "Woodland Animals Die Set (1001)". Hij houdt een schepje vast uit de "Garden Charms (1085)", en naast de tent staat een lampje uit de "Camping Charms (1049)". 

Als finishing touch prijkt de tekst Happy Birthday op de voorkant.

Dino Adventure in the Arcology

Today on my blog I’m sharing a special card I made for someone who absolutely loves archaeology. Armed with my "Tent Pop-Up (1048)", I got started right away. 

For the background, I used a fun Stampin’Up! stamp set with dinosaurs and bones. The white bones were heat embossed with powder, making them pop right off the page. On the tent, I added bones from the "Pirate Borders (1281)" set – the tiny skull-and-bones from the pirate hat were just the right size. 

The border was created with the "Halloween Borders (1247)". Of course, I couldn’t resist adding an animal: I chose the raccoon from the "Woodland Animals Die Set (1001)". He’s holding a little shovel from the "Garden Charms (1085)", and right next to the tent I placed a lantern from the "Camping Charms (1049)". 

To finish it all off, I added a cheerful Happy Birthday on the front.

Vogeltjes

Vandaag een kaartje met de Piano Keys Pop-up (1274). Ik had de schattige vogeltjes van Marianne Design gekocht en moest die natuurlijk gebruiken. Zangvogeltjes. Gewapeld met de Music Charms (1271) heb ik her en der war muzieknootjes geplaatst. Op de achtergrond heb ik een vogelhuisje neergezet (ook van Marianne Design). Het randje komt van de Border Blends - Party (1091). De Happy Birthday is 1 van de eerste tekst dies die ik heb gekocht (Word Set 2: Birthday Die Set 1003).

Birds

Today a card with the Piano Keys Pop-up (1274). I had bought the cute birds from Marianne Design and of course had to use them. Songbirds. Armed with the Music Charms (1271) I placed some music notes here and there. In the background I placed a birdhouse (also from Marianne Design). The edge comes from the Border Blends – Party (1091). The Happy Birthday is one of the first text dies I bought (Word Set 2: Birthday Die Set 1003).

Designer Challenge #96 All About Bottom Fold Cards

Vandaag laat ik jullie mijn kaart zien voor de maandelijkse challenge van augustus. Het thema is: bottom fold (een kaart die van onder naar boven openklapt). 

Het is even stil geweest aan mijn kant. Ik ben namelijk op vakantie geweest en moest daarna echt even bijkomen. Maar ik ben er weer! Al ga ik in september wéér op vakantie.

Deze kaart heb ik speciaal gemaakt voor mijn nichtje, die morgen jarig is. Het was wel even puzzelen, want ik vind een bottom fold niet de leukste manier om een kaart te openen. Daardoor moest ik extra goed nadenken over het ontwerp. 

Gelukkig is het gelukt! Ik heb de Long Flap and Closure (1200) van Karen Burniston gebruikt als sluiting aan de bovenkant van de kaart. De flap blijft dicht met een klein magneetje. Ik ben aan de slag gegaan met de Coffee Cup Pop-up (1145). Nadat ik de hoofdkleur van de kaart had gekozen, heb ik de "beker" aangepast en omgebouwd tot popcornbakje. Daarbij heb ik de Popcorn (1295) gebruikt. 

Voor de kleur van de bakjes heb ik gekozen voor Pecan Pie van Stampin’ Up!, in plaats van het standaard rood-wit. Aan de binnenkant heb ik een deel van de beker afgeknipt en er twee popcornbakjes op geplakt. Om de kaart verder te versieren, heb ik gebruikgemaakt van: 

•  Happy Birthday (1030) 
•  Happy Birthday Shadow (1179) 
•  Movie Night Charms (1305) 
•  Spring Animals (1074) 

Today I'm sharing my card for the August monthly challenge. The theme is: bottom fold (a card that opens from the bottom up). 

 It’s been a bit quiet from me lately. I went on vacation and needed some time to relax. But I’m back! Although… I’ll be going on vacation again in September. 

I made this card for my niece, who’s celebrating her birthday tomorrow. It wasn’t easy, because I don’t really love the bottom fold style. It’s not my favorite way to open a card. So I had to really think about the design. 

But I made it work! I used the Long Flap and Closure (1200) die from Karen Burniston to create a top closure for the card. The flap stays shut with a small magnet. I started with the Coffee Cup Pop-up (1145). After picking the main color for the card, I transformed the "cup" into a popcorn box using the Popcorn (1295) dies. 

I chose Pecan Pie from Stampin’ Up! instead of the classic red and white. Inside the card, I trimmed part of the cup and glued on two popcorn boxes. To decorate the card further, I used:

•  Happy Birthday Shadow (1179) 
•  Movie Night Charms (1305) 
•  Spring Animals (1074)
