Trekdrop

Een paar maanden geleden ging een meisje met school de Avondvierdaagse lopen. Tijdens het wandelen is het natuurlijk lekker om af en toe een snoepje te eten, dus ik zei: “Ooooh, je moet Trekdrop halen, die zijn zo lekker!”

Maar toen kwam ik erachter dat Trekdrop oud-Hollands snoep is en steeds vaker uit de schappen verdwijnt. Je kunt ze dus niet zomaar overal meer vinden. Daarom beloofde ik om voor haar verjaardag Trekdrop te regelen.

Daar hoort natuurlijk ook een verjaardagskaart bij. En wat is er dan toepasselijker dan een kaart met Trekdrop erop?

De Trekdrop heb ik zelf gemaakt. Voor zover ik weet is er nog niemand die daar een die van heeft gemaakt, dus moest ik ze zelf maken. Als basis heb ik de Cupcake Pop-Up Die Set (1008) tevoorschijn gehaald. Er kan natuurlijk geen diertje ontbreken, dus ik heb een girafje uit de Safari Animals (1127) set gebruikt.

Op de voorkant heb ik de tekst Happy Birthday gebruikt met de bijbehorende schaduw, de Happy Birthday (1030) en Happy Birthday Shadow (1179).

A few months ago, a girl went on the Four Days Marches with her school. When you are walking, it is always nice to have a little candy along the way, so I said: “Ooooh, you have to get Trekdrop. They are so good!”

But then I found out that Trekdrop is an old-fashioned Dutch candy and is becoming harder and harder to find in stores. So you can't just pick them up everywhere anymore. I promised to get some Trekdrop for her birthday.

Of course, that also called for a birthday card. And what could be more appropriate than a card featuring Trekdrop?

I made the Trekdrop myself. As far as I know, nobody has made a die for them yet, so I had to make them myself. As the base, I used the Cupcake Pop-Up Die Set (1008). Of course, a little animal had to be included, so I used a giraffe from the Safari Animals (1127) set.

On the front, I used the Happy Birthday sentiment together with its shadow, Happy Birthday (1030) and Happy Birthday Shadow (1179).

Even tussendoortje

Vandaag even een snelle kaart. Iemand op Facebook, in de groep Peeps, wilde graag weten of de Christmas Tree Pop-Up (1020) in de gazebo kon. Dat moest natuurlijk even uitgeprobeerd worden!

En ja, het is mogelijk. Ik heb de palen van de gazebo wel een stukje hoger gemaakt, omdat de kerstboom anders helemaal weg zou vallen onder het dak. De kaart moet daardoor wel in een grotere envelop, maar de boom is nu goed te zien.

Omdat ik bijna op vakantie ga, heb ik de kerstboom alleen met wat lampjes versierd. Zo blijft de boom zelf ook goed zichtbaar en is meteen duidelijk hoe hij in de gazebo staat.

Ik hoop dat mijn kleine test heeft geholpen!

Today, just a quick card. Someone in the Peeps group on Facebook wanted to know if the Christmas Tree Pop-Up (1020) would fit inside the gazebo. Of course, I had to give it a try!

And yes, it works. I did make the posts of the gazebo a little higher, because otherwise the Christmas tree would disappear completely underneath the roof. This does mean that the card needs a larger envelope, but the tree is now clearly visible.

Since I'm leaving for vacation soon, I only decorated the Christmas tree with a few lights. This also keeps the tree itself clearly visible and makes it easier to see how it fits inside the gazebo.

Vandaag is het weer tijd voor de Challenge Card en dit keer was het thema "Mealtime". Met temperaturen van maar liefst 35 graden ben ik toch weer helemaal in de kerstsfeer gedoken. Misschien helpt dat een beetje om af te koelen!

Ik vind de koekjes uit de Dessert Elements (1339) ontzettend leuk, dus ik kon het niet laten om er een hele stapel van te maken. De koekjes liggen op een rond bordje uit de Mealtime Elements (1338). Als basis voor de kaart heb ik de Upsy Daisy Pop-Up (1047) gebruikt en de vierkantjes zijn gemaakt met de Square Cascade Add-ons (1337). Op de voorkant heb ik de tekst "Cookie Time" toegevoegd met de Alphabet (1053).

Today it's time for another Challenge Card, and this time the theme was "Mealtime." Even though it's 35°C outside, I decided to get back into Christmas mode. Maybe it will help cool things down a little!

I absolutely love the cookies from the Dessert Elements (1339), so I couldn't resist making lots of them. The cookies are displayed on a round plate from the Mealtime Elements (1338). I used the Upsy Daisy Pop-Up (1047) as the base of the card, and the squares were created with the Square Cascade Add-ons (1337). To finish the card, I added the words "Cookie Time" to the front using the Alphabet (1053).
