New Release & First Look!

Vandaag de eerste sneakpeek kaart. Ik ben met de Pine Cone (1311) en de Greetings Labels (1312) gaan spelen. Iets zei me dat ik, omdat ik muzieknootjes had met de “falalalala”, aan de slag moest gaan met de Season of Cheer clear stamps. Ook de Happy New Year heb ik gebruikt. 

De Merry Christmas komt uit de Christmas Wishes clear stamps set. De stempels heb ik gecombineerd met de Greetings. Naast de nieuwe dies die ik net heb genoemd, heb ik ook wat andere dies gebruikt. 

Aan de binnenkant zit de Photo Fan Pop-up (1292) en met de Poinsettia (1286) heb ik het geheel nog wat extra versierd. 

Today I’m sharing the very first sneak peek card! I’ve been playing with the Pine Cone (1311) and Greetings Labels (1312). Since my patterned paper features musical notes, I thought the “falalalala” from the Season of Cheer clear stamps was the perfect match I also added the Happy New Year sentiment. 

The Merry Christmas comes from the Christmas Wishes clear stamps set, and I combined all the stamping with the new Greetings dies. Besides the new dies I just mentioned, I used a few other favorites as well. 

Inside the card you’ll find the Photo Fan Pop-up (1292), and I decorated everything with the Poinsettia (1286) for an extra festive touch.

Een warm gebaar na een operatie

Vandaag maakte ik een speciale kaart voor iemand die onlangs geopereerd is. Na zo’n ingreep kan iedereen wel wat extra liefde en verwennerij gebruiken, en precies dat wilde ik meegeven met deze kaart. Voor het ontwerp heb ik gewerkt met de Tea and Coffee Pop-up (1269). 

Op de voorkant prijkt een vrolijk bosje tulpen, en binnenin heb ik nog een paar losse tulpen verwerkt voor een extra fleurig effect. Wanneer je de kaart opent, komt het gezellige pop-up tafereeltje tevoorschijn: een theekopje met hartvormig stoom, een lepeltje, een theezakje en warme gele tinten die meteen een glimlach oproepen. 

De kleine details, zoals het bloemenrandje en het labeltje voor een persoonlijke boodschap, maken de kaart helemaal af. Hopelijk voelt de ontvanger zich met dit warme gebaar snel weer beter. 

Today I created a special card for someone who recently had surgery. After such an operation, everyone can use a bit of extra love and care, and that is exactly what I wanted this card to express. For the design I used the Tea and Coffee Pop-up (1269). 

On the front I added a cheerful bouquet of tulips, and inside the card I included a few loose tulips for an extra touch of brightness. When you open the card, a cozy pop-up scene appears: a teacup with heart-shaped steam, a spoon, a teabag, and warm yellow tones that bring an instant smile. 

The small details, such as the floral border and the little label for a personal note, complete the card beautifully. I hope this warm gesture brings the recipient comfort and helps them feel better soon.

Designer Challenge 99 - Theme: "Fun Faces"

Vandaag is het weer tijd voor een nieuwe challengekaart! Deze keer moesten we de stempelset "Fun Faces clear stamps 1" gebruiken. Ik ben begonnen met een kaart in de vorm van een boek, want de jarige job is dol op lezen. Daarnaast houdt hij ervan om zijn huis gezellig te maken met bloemen en planten. Daarom heb ik een herfstkaart gemaakt. Ik heb de Cat and Dog (1024) dies gebruikt samen met de stempels om mijn hond en kat te maken. Superleuk en makkelijk met de stempels! Mijn hond en kat spelen vrolijk tussen de bladeren onder de Tiny Trees Pop-Up (1156).

It’s time for another challenge card! This time we had to use the "Fun Faces clear stamps 1" stamp set. I started with a card shaped like a book, since the birthday boy loves reading. He also enjoys making his home cozy with flowers and plants, so I created an autumn-themed card. I used the Cat and Dog (1024) dies together with the stamps to make my dog and cat. The stamps make it so fun and easy! My dog and cat are happily playing in the leaves under the Tiny Trees Pop-Up (1156).

Virtual Class met Karen Burniston

Vandaag hadden jullie al een mooie kaart gezien, maar aangezien ik net de virtual class van Karen Burniston heb gedaan, wilde ik die graag aan jullie laten zien.

Het papier dat Karen heeft gebruikt was niet helemaal hetzelfde. Niet al het papier is in Nederland verkrijgbaar. Helaas was het papier dat ik had gekregen wat te dun naar mijn smaak — ik werk liever met wat dikker papier. Maar goed, de kaarten zijn gelukt en het was erg leuk om hem te leren maken. Ik laat eerst kaart 2 zien, want die vond ik het leukst om te maken. Hier had het dikkere papier goed van pas gekomen!

De tweede kaart was ook erg leuk. Die panelen omdraaien is echt grappig om te doen. Sorry dat mijn kikkerpootje niet helemaal goed op de foto staat, hihi. Omdat ik dat nu eenmaal leuker vind, heb ik een metalen ringetje gebruikt. Dus ik heb ook nog even mijn soldeerpen tevoorschijn gehaald.

A creative day with Karen Burniston

You already saw a beautiful card today, but since I just finished the virtual class by Karen Burniston, I wanted to share it with you.

The paper Karen used wasn’t exactly the same — not all of it is available here in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, the paper I received was a bit too thin for my taste; I prefer working with sturdier paper. But the cards turned out great, and it was so much fun to learn how to make them! I’m showing card number 2 first because it was my favorite one to make. That’s where the thicker paper would have come in handy!

The second card was also really fun. Flipping those panels is such a cool mechanism! Sorry that my little frog foot didn’t quite make it into the photo, haha. Because I love adding my own touch, I used a small metal ring — which meant bringing out my soldering pen again!

Een vleugje lente met lavendel en kaboutertjes

Ik ben voor deze kaart begonnen met een mooie achtergrond — eentje met lavendel. Ik wilde een kaart maken voor de verjaardag van mijn schoonzusje, en ik vond dat ze wel wat lente kon gebruiken.

Karen had voor haar designer challenge een prachtige hek pop-up gemaakt, en die wilde ik heel graag namaken. Als jullie hem ook leuk vinden, zal ik hier de link naar haar "YouTube-video" delen.

Voor de decoratie heb ik wat stempels gebruikt: de Bouquet Sayings clear stamps en de Sweet Treats clear stamps. Verder heb ik de kaart aangekleed met de schattige kaboutertjes (Tiny Gnomes 1165) en de bloemen van de Fence Add-ons (1240).

Omdat het een verjaardagskaart is, mochten de cupcakejes natuurlijk niet ontbreken! Met de Squares - Crosshatch (1056) heb ik een soort picknickkleedje gemaakt waarop je een boodschap kunt schrijven.

A Touch of Spring with Lavender and Little Gnomes

I started this card with a beautiful lavender background. I wanted to make a birthday card for my sister-in-law, and I thought she could use a little bit of spring.

Karen made a gorgeous fence pop-up for her designer challenge, and I really wanted to recreate it. If you like it too, I’ll share the link to her "YouTube-video" here.

For the decorations, I used some stamps: Bouquet Sayings clear stamps and Sweet Treats clear stamps. I also dressed up the card with the adorable Tiny Gnomes (1165) and the flowers from Fence Add-ons (1240).

Since it’s a birthday card, of course there had to be some cupcakes! Using the Squares - Crosshatch (1056), I created a little picnic blanket to write on.

Designer Challange 98 - Theme: "Peek-a-Boo!"

Vandaag is het weer tijd voor de Designer Challenge. Sorry dat het wat stiller was de laatste tijd, maar na mijn vakantie had ik wat moeite om weer op gang te komen. Gelukkig, na World Card Making Day, vond ik mijn ritme weer terug.

Ik heb eerst mijn werkplek goed schoongemaakt — nu heb ik weer een omgeving waar ik echt kan werken. 

In mijn vakantie kreeg ik het verdrietige nieuws dat de dame van de scouting — degene die tien jaar geleden mijn zoon in haar groep had — is overleden. Zij was écht een “mama beer” binnen de scouting. Ik besloot dat deze challenge een kaart zou worden die haar familie kan troosten en herinneren. 

Wanneer ik aan scouting denk, zie ik een tent voor me. Dus dat werd de basis van mijn kaart. Verder wilde ik bloemen en vlinders erin verwerken. Dus ik pakte mijn kist met dies en ging ze één voor één langs om te kijken wat zou passen. Het werd een lange lijst maar er vielen er ook een paar af. Hier is de lijst met de dies die ik uiteindelijk gebruikt heb:

Today it's time again for the Designer Challenge. I apologize that things have been a bit quiet lately - after my vacation I had difficulty getting back into the swing of things. Fortunately, after World Card Making Day, I found my rhythm again. I cleaned up my workspace thoroughly - and now I have a proper environment to work in again. 

During my vacation I received the sad news that the lady from scouting - the one who led my son’s group about ten years ago - had passed away. She was truly a “mama bear” in scouting. I decided that for this challenge, I would make a card for her family. 

When I think of scouting, a tent comes to mind. So that became the base of my card - the tent pop-up. But I also knew I needed flowers and butterflies in there. So I opened my box of dies, laid them all out, and considered them one by one to see what would work. The list got long - some dies were later dropped, but many remained in the final design. Here is the list of dies I ultimately used:

1125 Pattern Plate – Tiles 

1254 Raising Platform Pop-up — for the area where the “With Sympathy” text is placed 

1199 Short Rectangles – Crosshatch — for the “Thinking of You” text

1016 Winter Animals — the bear (a subtle nod to “mama bear”) 

Designer Challenge 97 - Theme: "LETTER"

Vandaag vertrek ik naar Orlando om Disney World onveilig te maken! Maar voordat het avontuur echt begint, heb ik nog even de tijd genomen om deze vrolijke kaart met jullie te delen. 

Het thema van Designer Challenge 97 is “LETTER”. Voor deze kaart heb ik zowel fysieke letters als brieven gecombineerd in één ontwerp. De basis is gemaakt met Flip Frame Pop-Up (1134). Met mijn envelop punch board maakte ik de envelopjes, en de kleinere exemplaren komen uit de Postage Pop-Up (1291) set. De schattige varkentjes komen uit de Chicken, Pig and Lamb (1092) set. Om een boodschap op te schrijven gebruikte ik Rectangles - Crosshatch (1054), en op de voorkant pronkt “Happy Birthday” met de Alphabet (1053) set. 

Het resultaat is een speelse en vrolijke kaart die het thema van de challenge helemaal tot leven brengt.

Today I’m heading to Orlando to have fun at Disney World! But before the adventure truly begins, I wanted to share this cheerful card with you. 

The theme of Designer Challenge 97 is “LETTER”. For this card, I combined both physical letters and mail in one design. The base is made with Flip Frame Pop-Up (1134). The result is a playful and cheerful card that truly brings the challenge theme to life.
